What is a Copper Ring Terminal Insulated?

Copper Ring Terminal Insulated is a crimp-style cable lug with a circular (ring) eye that fits over a stud or screw. The conductor end is crimped or soldered to the copper barrel; the barrel is covered with an insulating sleeve (PVC, nylon, or heat-shrink) that provides electrical insulation and strain relief. Ring terminals are used where a permanent, secure bolted connection is required.
